Tic Tac Holder

Make tic tacs into a really cute small gift

I made these tic tac holders a couple of years back and gave them away as Christmas gifts. However I don't think they have to be just Christmas gifts so I am writing some instructions so you can make them too. You can buy packs of 4 tic tacs quite cheaply and you only need small amounts of card - they would make lovely January gifts to cheer up friends.
Tic Tac gift using stampin Ups Snow place stamp set

I used a Stampin Up stamp set of a snowman to make the picture on the front but you can use any snowman stamp you have.

Follow the below link to find out how the gift was made

You will need
  • Blue card 9 . 5 cm by 7 cm
  • White card 6 . 7 cm by 3 . 7 cm
  • small amount of white card
  • 16g box of tic tacs
  • Ink pads - black, blue and a red (I used a black ink pad from Hobbycraft and Stampin Up's cherry cobler and island indigo ink pads)
  • Orange colouring medium of your choice (I used Promarker - honeycomb)
  • 2 . 5 cm circle die
  • Snow Place stamp set by Stampin' Up!
  • Snow Friends framelits die set by Stampin' Up!
  • Rounding corner punch
  • 30cm of ribbon (3-5mm in width)
  • Small piece of sponge
  • Glue
  • Strong double side tape

  1. If you have a rounding corner punch use it on all corners of the blue card but only the right hand side corners of the white card. (If you don't have a rounding corner punch, don't worry it will work fine with square corners)
cut the card and round the corners

  2. Score the blue card 4cm in from each of the short sides

  3. Stamp the short snowman from the Snow Place stamp set in black ink towards the top of the white card.
Stamp the small snowman from the Snow Place stamp set

  4. Stamp snowflakes using the blue ink around the snowman.  Then using a sponge dipped in the blue ink, ink around the edges of the white card. Colour in the snowman's nose.
Stamp the snowflakes from the snow place stamp set

  5. Stamp a bow tie from the stamp set using red ink onto the small amount of white card and cut out using the die set

  6. Put a small amount of double sided tape on the front of the blue card as per the below photo. (Don't put the ribbon too low as you will be cutting a circle out of the lower half and do not want to cut the ribbon)
    double sided tape on front

  7. Stick the ribbon, using the double sided tape added in point 6, across the blue card so it protrudes either side evenly.

  8. Glue the white card to the front of the blue card
Attach snowman picture to front of blue card

  9. Glue the bow tie in place

  10. Use the 2 . 5 cm circle die to cut out a circle at the bottom of the snowman as per the below photo
Using 2.5cm circle die cut out the lower snowman body

  11. Turn the blue card over and put a strip of strong double sided tape down the inside spine as per below photo.
add small amount of double sided tape to the inside spine

  12. Ensure you have the tic tac's so the opening is facing out and stick the other narrow edge on the double sided tape you just put down in point 11.
attach the box of tic tacs to the inside

  13. Fold the blue card around the tic tac case and tie the ribbon to secure it.

This is your finished gift. I love the fact that you can see the tic tacs through the front and they create the extra part of the snowman's body : )
