Stamp your own background to make this simple yet effective anniversary card
I liked the card I made by masking off an area and then stamping to create a background (click here to see the card) and wanted to do something similar to create this anniversary card.
I had a square greeting so wanted to create a white layer for it to sit in. So this time I used a piece of card to create a layer, cut out a square aperture, stamped on this layer and then glued it to a base card. This left a perfect aperture for my greeting.
Obviously a bit of sparkle in the form of gems just finished it off : )
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- White C6 card base
- White card 10 cm wide by 13 cm tall
- Dear Doily stamp set by Stampin Up
- 'Some things are just meant to be' greeting from Stampin Up Petal Palette stamp set
- 6 cm square die
- Light and dark purple ink pads (I used Stampin Up - perfect plum and elegant eggplant)
- Purple gems
- Stamping aid (I used the stamparatus by Stampin Up)
- Using the 6 cm square die, cut an aperture towards the top part of the 10 cm x 13 cm piece of card
- Using the lighter purple ink pad and the largest doily stamp from the Dear Doily stamp set, stamp doilies all over the piece of card you just cut the aperture from
- Stick the doily stamped card onto the base card
- Using your stamping aid line the greeting up in the centre of the aperture (ensure you have the greeting up the right way - I didn't on my first attempt !). Bring the plastic cover over to pick the stamp up. Using the darker purple ink pad, ink the stamp and stamp the greeting onto your card.
- Glue some purple gems in the middle of the doilies
A very elegant anniversary card. I like how the doilies are quite detailed and it really makes the aperture stand out as it's so white in comparison.
