Pop-Up Card

Use Lawn Fawns pop up card die to make a truly 3d card

It's another cat card - Lawn Fawns Meow You Doin stamp set is really cute but this blog is to show you how to put together their Pop-Up card. This is a seperate die but is quite versatile as you can use any of your stamps and papers to decorate it.

Perpetual Calendar

How to make your own perpetual calendar from your favourite card stock

I found whilst in Covid-19 lockdown as I was not doing my normal routine, I soon forgot what day and date it was. I then started forgetting to do things, like putting the bins out! One Saturday my husband queried why I was cooking a roast which we normally do on a Sunday - ooops! I wondered if I could make a perpetual calendar from card - so after a week of playing around with various size boxes, I came up with this perpetual calendar:

I was rather pleased with it. I've made mine using red and green patterned card so it fits in my living room decor. Now every morning when I open the curtains, I just move the boxes around to the new date and hey presto - I can now remember what day it is! That's the plan anyway!

It's a bit fiddly to score and cut out the boxes but just take it slowly - double check your measurements before cutting and you will get there. If you have any problems with my instructions just send me a comment on the contact me page and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Monster Birthday - twin style

Using the same stamp set to make slightly different cards

When it comes to giving birthday cards to twins, I like to treat them the same, however they are still individual, so I like to make two cards that are similar. Sometimes I do the same card but in different colours but this year for one set of twins I have made the same card but with different images.

These cards also give me the chance to show off some more of that patterned paper I have been hoarding !

I had a bit of a dilemma when making these cards as I had the idea of the monster holding a balloon image but with the tags down the side of the layering rectangle, it didn't fit onto a C6 card. By turning the base card into a tent fold and the layering rectangle extending past the top of the card, it all fits and gives an extra shape to the card. As long as it still fits into a standard envelope, it's a win, win !

Rainbow greetings

Make a cheerful rainbow card just to say hi or get well soon

Here in the UK we use rainbows to symbolise hope in the covid-19 crisis and it suddenly struck me how I could die cut one to make a card. They are cheery, so got out my dies and ended up crafting two cards.

The rainbow itself is made using nesting circular dies so I created a whole circle of the rainbow and then cut in half to create two cards.

Pretty Squares

Show off your really pretty patterned paper in this squares card

Still trying to find ways to show off my patterned papers - so hence this weeks card. Extremely simple and a great way to use up scraps of your favourite patterned paper.

You can also incorporate stamped images into the design. If you have some small stamps, they can form the pictures within the small squares. Or layer them ontop of the squares. I did a couple of extra green samples showing these which you can find at the bottom of this blog page.
