Use Lawn Fawns pop up card die to make a truly 3d card
It's another cat card - Lawn Fawns Meow You Doin stamp set is really cute but this blog is to show you how to put together their Pop-Up card. This is a seperate die but is quite versatile as you can use any of your stamps and papers to decorate it.
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- A4 sheet of brown A4 card
- Little piece of dark brown card
- A4 sheet of paw patterned card (If you dont have this you can make your own using the paw print in the stamp set)
- White card
- Small selection of colourful patterned card
- Lawn Fawns Meow You Doin stamp and die set
- Lawn Fawns Scalloped Box Card Pop-up die set
- Black, purple, blue and purple ink pads (I used a black ink pad from Hobbycraft and Stampin up's perfect plum, crushed curry, wild wasabi and island indigo
- Black stazon ink pad
- Colouring medium of your choice (I used Promarkers - oatmeal, honeycomb, cool grey 4, cool grey 3, cool grey 1, ivory, buttercup, baby pink, dusky rose, denim blue, pear green, sandstone and cinnamon)
- Accetate
- Die cutting machine
- Double sided tape or glue
- Double sided foam pads
- Cut out 2 scalloped box cards and 2 middle batons from the A4 brown card
- Cut out of the paw print patterned card using the inside rectangles and squares from the scalloped box die. You will need 2 of each apart from the thinner long rectangle which you will only need one of
- Cut out the curved string (times two) and two uprights of the banner part of scalloped box die set out of the dark brown card
- Using the smaller rectangular bunting die from the set, cut out 13 from the coloured card
- Put double sided tape or glue onto the tabs of the middle batons and glue one end onto one part of the scalloped box parts as per below photo
- Put double sided tape or glue onto the tabs on the scalloped box parts and stick one to the other as per the below photo:
- If you now fold the right part of the scalloped box across the other one, lining up the bases and sticking it to the other tab. The middle batons will attach themselves in the correct place as shown below:
- Fold the two sides and the front upper parts downwards
- Glue the paw patterned card centrally to the matching parts on the scalloped box
- Fold each of the bunting flags in half and write Happy Birthday across them. Glue them onto the dark brown string cut out in step 3
- Glue the ends of the string to the uprights cut out in step 3
- Stamp several cats, balls of wool and food onto white card(I decorated my card with 4 cats, cat bed, tin of food, party hat, mouse, fish and 4 balls of wool with their matching strands)
- Colour in the stamped items and die cut out
- Cut the acetate into 3 long thin strips. Stamp one of the strips with Zzz using the stazon ink pad
- Stick a ball of wool onto one of the acetate strips and the fish bones onto the other
- Glue the happy birthday banner onto the back so it sticks above the card
- Using foam pads and glue, decorate your scalloped box card. The acetate strips can also be stuck onto the middle batons so the items on them look like they are floating
This card is now finished. It can be folded flat to be posted in an envelope.
