Create a really simple card using just one large image
Whilst tidying my study recently, I found a couple of books with fairly large images in them. Therefore today's blog is to show you a really simple card that can be made using just one of these images.
The images I used are from 'The Little Book of Pampered Paws by Hunkydory. The images are 15 cm high by 10 . 5 cm wide. I chose a really simple design for this card as the pictures are so pretty - which is probably why I bought the books in the first place :) You can decorate with as much extra detail as you wish or could even 3d decoupage the picture using the duplicate images from the book.

Here is another card made using a different picture from the book. This time instead of the gems, I picked out the cup in the picture and stuck a peel off teacup on the bottom right of the base card.
You will need
- A4 pink card
- The Little Book of Pampered Paws by Hunkydory
- 8 tiny clear gems
- Happy Birthday peel off
- Double sided tape or glue
- Craft knife, metal ruler and a pencil
- Guillotine with scoring blade
- Fold the piece of A4 card in half to form the base card. Draw a very light pencil line on the front of the card 7 . 5 cm in from the left-hand side
- Glue your image centrally onto the front of the card
- Open up the card and make some light pencil marks 0 . 5 cm away from the picture but only on the right hand side of the original pencil line drawn in step 1
(I've emphasised the marks so you can see in the photo, but you will only want to make them lightly in pencil) - Using your craft knife and a metal ruler, cut a 0 . 5 cm border away from the picture but only on the right of the original pencil line using the pencil marks you made in step 3
- Using your guillotine and a scoring blade, score the original pencil lines (from step 1) from top and bottom only to the line where you cut 0 . 5 cm away from the picture
- Fold the right-hand side of the front of the card back on itself and rub out any visible pencil lines
- Glue 5 gems to the dogs collar and 3 gems to the bottom right of the base card
- Put a happy birthday greeting in the top left hand corner of your card
