Peas on Earth!

Create a simple Z fold base card to make this cute Peas on Earth design by Lawn Fawn

I really love this new stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn - it made me chuckle. I actually bought it for my son to make his Christmas cards but I love it too ! As they are quite small stamps, I used a Z fold base card in a patterned paper so I could use lots of small images but they wouldn't look lost on such a big card.

The pea stamps have separate eyes so you can create your peas with different personalities. I used the Stamparatus so I could get the eye stamps in the right place but it is possible to stamp them using a standard clear stamp block as I find the Lawn Fawn stamps work so well.

Follow the below link to find out how the card was made

You will need
  • Peas on Earth stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn
  • Bunch of Banners Framelits die set by Stampin Up
  • Black Ink pad (mine came from Hobbycraft)
  • Double sided patterned card 27 cm x 15 cm (I used a piece with trees on from Paper Addicts called 'It's Cold Outside')
  • Guillotine with cutting and scoring blade
  • Stamping aid (I used the Stamparatus but you could used the Misti or just a standard clear stamping block)
  • A4 white card
  • Colouring medium of your choice (I used promarkers Cool grey 1 and 2, dusky rose, blue pearl, forest green and mustard)
  • Die cutting machine
  • Double sided foam pads

  1. Score your patterned card at 9 cm and 18 cm intervals.

  2. Measure up from the bottom left and mark at 6 cm
Base card scored at 9 and 18cm plus 6 cm marked from bottom left corner
    Dotted lines indicate score marks

  3. Cut a diagonal straight line from the 6 cm mark to the second score line at the top of the card. I placed mine into my guillotine and lined those marks up on the cutting groove - then cut it as per the below photo

  4. Now fold the card to create the Z shape with the smaller end at the front
Fold the card along score lines to create Z fold

  5. Using black ink, stamp 6 peas, 2 lamp posts, 4 speech bubbles with musical notes in them and the 'Let there be peas on Earth' wording. Ensure each on the words are stamped separately so they can be cut out individually

Because I had this set up in Stamparatus,
I stamped the above twice to create my 6 peas etc

  6. Colour in your stamped images and then die cut them out. I cut out the words using a banner from the Stampin up banner die set

  7. Using foam pads stick 3 peas, 1 lamp post, 2 speech bubbles and the wording 'on Earth' onto the small front part of the Z fold card. Then using foam pads stick 2 peas, one speech bubble, 1 lamp post and the wording 'Peas' on the second layer of Z fold card but so it shows only at the top of the card. Stick 1 pea, 1 speech bubble and the wording 'Let there be' using double sided foam pads on the 3rd layer of the Z fold card - again at the top of the section so it shows from the front. Use the picture below as a guide

You can decorate the card further if you wish or complete the card with some seasonal wording on the inside. If you unfold your card you can see lots of space to add extra decorations. I like mine as it is because of the patterned card I used.
