Use tiny stamps to make this lovely thank you card
This week I needed to make some thank you cards. I'm using a technique where you use a mask to keep some of the card blank and then stamp around the edge to create the pattern. The mask is eventually removed leaving a blank space and in the case of this card, I then stamped the words Thank You.
I've used Aster Wreath SFL34047 stamp set by Rubber Stamp Tapestry. It contains 5 stamps ranging from 1 cm to 2 cm in length. You can use any stamps you have in your collection and any shape mask to accommodate your greeting.
I've made similar cards in the past, where I've masked off an area and then stamped around it. Click here to be taken to the page where I made an anniversary card and here where I created a stripe across the page
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- C6 white card blank
- Aster Wreath stamp set SFL34047
- 'Thank you' greeting stamp (Mine came from the Petal Palette stamp set by Stampin Up)
- 2 shades of green ink and one red (I used ink pads by Stampin up - wild wasabi, garden green and rose red)
- Oval die cutter 6 . 5 cm by 3 . 5 cm (You can use any die's that are big enough to stamp your greeting in the centre of)
- Post it note large enough to cut out your die from
- Stamping aid (I use a Stamparatus)
- Cut out your die shape from a post it note ensuring you get as much of it as possible on the sticky bit
- Place your post it note centrally on the front of your card base
- Using the fern leaf stamp and the lighter green ink pad, stamp lots of leaves around the edge of the post it note. Stamp some without re-inking to make them stamp feinter. Make sure they are quite dense around the edge of the post it note but go lighter as you go outwards - see the below photo
- Now using the darker green ink pad, stamp some leaves coming out from the edge of the post it
- Using the red ink pad, stamp some small aster flowers
- Remove your mask
- Using your stamping aid to line up your 'Thank You' greeting stamp so it will stamp in the centre of the oval wreath. I used the red ink pad to stamp the greeting
This is your finished card. You can add some glitter to the flowers or maybe some gems if you wish to make them stand out more.
