Scandinavian Woven Heart bag

Make a gift bag from a couple of strips of coloured paper

I've always wanted to make one of these - they facinate me as it forms a bag from two pieces of paper woven together.

I've made mine from patterned 12 x 12 scrapbooking paper but you can get a similar size bag just using A4 paper. You want to use paper rather than card as anything too thick will be harder to weave. It's a little fiddly to weave but just remember its not under and over but through and around - I hope to explain this better with photo's - just see the instructions below.

You're the cutest - valentine card

A monster makes a unique valentine card - he is rather cute though

I absolutely love the Monster Love stamp and die set by Concord & 9th and it makes a great valentine card. I was going to make it red based because that's how most valentine cards are made, however after colouring the monster blue, grey for the base card seemed more appropriate and I think it really works.

As the stamp set has numerous stamps within it, it's very versatile. I've used this stamp set before to make a birthday card - click here to see that post.

Use Lawn Fawns Special Delivery and Waving stamp and die kits to create this interactive valentine card

If you're looking for something a little different this year for your valentine card, then follow this blog where I show you how to make an interactive waving owl card.  Pull the little tab at the top of the card and the owl will flap it's wings :)

Less is more, circular card

A sweet little cactus birthday card

I decided I wanted to make the cactus card with a circular die from 'Swirly scribbles' thinlits die from Stampin up. Incase you do not have that particular die set I have also made a cactus card with a set of circular nesting dies. I will show you how to make both. (I actually prefer the one made using the nesting dies !)

You don't always have to cram your card full of decorations to make an impactful card. I sat down to make this weeks card and before I knew it, I had a 6 x 6 square card full of circles of different sizes and a small picture towards the bottom - it wasn't working! I removed everything and started again. I made the card smaller, used just one circle (in the case of the Swirly Scribbles die), the cactus image and greeting and I was finally happy with it.

All the circles I die cut out to make this card and then ended up not using
- not for this card anyway - always keep them for other cards !

Woven Background Birthday Card

Weave a paper background to create an easy greeting card

I've used strips of coloured patterned papers to weave a background that I have then added my greeting to.

I've used two square dies to create a frame to hide the edges of the woven background but if you don't have any dies then just use strips of coloured card instead to create a frame. This card could be made with any coloured patterned or plain paper for the weaving and therefore make it for any occasion.
