Dandy Day Mum

Use Lawn Fawns Dandy Day stamp and die set to make this really cute Mothers Day card

I really like dandelions and Lawn Fawn have made this cute stamp and die set teamed up with mice. As Mother's day is on it's way I thought I'd make a card using this stamp set.
Dandy Day stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn

There are lots of characters, flowers and greetings in this stamp set so it doesn't have to be a mothers day card you can change it to a friend or dad card instead.

Follow the below link to find out how the card was made

You will need
  • A4 sheet of bright blue card
  • A4 sheet of white card
  • Lawn Fawns Dandy Day stamp and die set
  • Black ink pad (Mine came from Hobbycraft)
  • Versamark ink pad
  • White embossing powder (I used WOW embossing powder opaque bright white super fine)
  • Heat gun
  • Stamping aid (I use Stamparatus by Stamping Up)
  • Colouring medium (I use Promarkers - cool grey 1, cool grey 2, dusky pink, meadow green, pale pink and )
  • Die cutting machine (I use sizzix bigshot)
  • Glue and double sided foam pads
  • Washi tape

  1. Using black ink, stamp all of the mice characters, the half blown dandelion, the blown seeds, full dandelion and one set of leaves. Colour in and die cut out
Stamp, colour and die cut all the mice and some of the dandelions

  2. Cut the bright blue card in half and fold it in half to create an A5 base card

  3. Put the base card into your stamping aid and lay the die cuts cut out in step 1 as per the below photo
Use stamparatus to lay out where the greetings will stamp

  4. Lay the greetings stamps in between the images so it says 'I couldn't have wished' at the top, 'for a better' and 'mum' in the middle and 'Have a dandy day' at the bottom. Pick the stamps up with the clear plastic tab on your stamping aid. Remove the images off the base card but leave the base card in the stamping aid

  5. Ink the stamps with the Versamark ink pad and stamp onto the card

  6. Remove the card from the stamping aid and cover the ink with the embossing powder. Knock off the excess onto a scrap piece of card and return to the embossing pot
Cover versamark stamped greetings with embossing powder

  7. Heat the embossing powder on the base card with the heat gun. I let my heat gun warm up a bit before actually directing it at the card and then move it over the powder on the card until the powder changes to a solid white colour (I love watching it change - it's quite magical !)
Heat the embossing powder to melt it

  8. Lay the images back onto the card. Glue the half dandelion and floating seeds onto the card. Attach all other images with double sided foam pads
Use double sided foam pads to add the mice to the card

How cute are the mice? My favourite is the one flying down hanging onto a dandelion!
