Ice Cream Shaker Card

Use Stampin Up's Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and matching punch to create this sweet treat shaker card.

I thought it might be quite fun to create an ice cream shaker card where sprinkles can be shaken on your ice cream. So here is this weeks card:
Use Sweet Ice Cream stamp set by stampin up to make a shaker card

If you have other stamps or images you wish to transform into a shaker for a card or decoration, just follow my instructions below. Just remember to cover the aperture with acetate so your sprinkles do not fall out and you leave enough gap around your aperture to the edge of your image to fit in some double sided foam pads which create the pot to hold the sprinkles. Sprinkles can be anything small such as mini gems, sequins or tiny shaped pieces of paper.

Follow the below link to find out how the card was made

You will need
  • Sweet Ice Cream stamp set by Stampin Up
  • Ice Cream builder punch
  • 1 . 5 cm circle die (this is used to create your aperture but you can cut an aperture by hand with a craft knife)
  • Bunting flag die 8 cm wide by 13 . 5 cm long (this can be cut by hand if you don't have this die)
  • Acetate
  • Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper by Stampin Up
  • Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles by Stampin Up
  • Brown, dark green and light yellow ink pads (I used Stampin up ink pads - soft suede, mossy meadow and so saffron)
  • White A4 card
  • Die cutting machine
  • Stamping aid (I use Stamparatus by Stampin Up)
  • Guillotine
  • Glue, double sided tape and double sided foam pads
  • Washi tape
  • Small piece of thin dark green ribbon

  1. Using the light yellow ink pad, stamp two ice creams onto white card
Stamp two ice cream top parts onto white card

  2. Using the brown ink pad stamp one cone then the cross hatches ontop. Then stamp two small sticks followed by the lines (I'm using the sticks as Flakes !). Tip - stamp one base stamp using your stamping aid and align it nearish top right. Stamp it and then move your stamparatus plate down two or three notches - re ink and stamp. When you then align the second part of the stamp against your first stamped image, stamp it and then you just move the stamparatus plate down two or three notches again and it will automatically align with the second stamped image. (You can see the plate being moved down the notches in the above photo)

  3. Use the 1 . 5 cm circle die to cut a hole centrally in one of the ice cream stamped images

  4. Put glue around the hole on the back and stick some accetate over the top of it
Cut a hole in one of the ice cream tops then glue acetate behind it

  5. Use the ice cream builder punch to cut out the two ice cream tops and the cone. Tip - use the punch upside down to see exactly where it is going to cut. Partially push the punch down to hold the paper to check alignment and then when you are happy, push the punch down further to cut completely. You may have to trim the paper around the stamped image a little to allow it to fit into the punch.

Use the punch upside down to see where it will cut

Cut trough ice crema card and acetate in one go

  6. Cut out the two flakes with a small white line around it using scissors

  7. Glue the two flakes behind the ice cream top without the hole
Glue two flakes behind one of the ice cream tops

  8. Put double sided foam pads around the hole on the back of the other ice cream top. Put some sprinkles loose in the centre of the hole and then stick the other ice cream top ontop (colour side down) - lining it up with the first one.
Create a barrier out of double sided foam pads and load centre with sprinkles

Stick the other ice cream top ontop to seal the sprinkles in

  9. Put a small amount of glue at the top of the cone and stick the ice cream to the top of it.

  10. Cut a sheet of A4 white card 10 . 5 cm tall by 29 . 7 cm wide. Fold in half and this is your base card

  11. Cut a bunting shape from a sheet of spotty card from the Stampin Up patterned paper pack.  ( I used a die but you can cut it by hand - try and get the size about 8 cm deep by 13 . 5 cm long)
Cut a bunting flag out of card from Ice cream corner DSP

  12. Use your stamping aid to line up the Happy Birthday greeting on the top long edge of the bunting. You only want to stamp the Happy part, so line this up and then cover the Birthday part with washi tape. You may wish to lay the ice cream shaker part on the bunting on the left hand edge so you can see where the greeting will lie. Ink the stamp with the dark green ink, remove the washi tape and stamp it onto the bunting flag. Repeat this process with the Birthday part of the greeting stamp to stamp it below the Happy on the bunting flag. Then stamp Treat Yourself at the bottom of the flag below the Happy Birthday
Line up the greeting on the stamparatus

Cover the part you do not wish to stamp at the moment with washi tape

  13. Glue the bunting flag to the front of your base card. (I attached mine just down the left hand edge)
Glue bunting flag to front of base card

  14. Put some thin double sided tape on the bunting flag towards the left edge and then stick the ribbon down. Stick the ends of the ribbon inside the card
Put a thin strip of double sided tape on front to glue ribbon to

Stick the ends of the ribbon inside the card

  15. Attach your ice cream shaker image to the front of your card using double sided foam pads
