A super quick card to make for urgent occasions or for beginners to have a go at
I needed a card urgently for an old work colleague this week and just didn't have the right card in my made stash. So I made a quick card like this one.
It is very effective because of the gorgeous patterned paper and can literally be made in a few minutes. If you are new to crafting this might be a good card to have a go at and if you are nervous about stamping, you can always use peel off's instead.
It's a great way to use up some really pretty patterned paper and can be used for notelets, party invites, thank you and save the date cards to name but a few. The list is endless - you just need the patterned paper !
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- C6 white base card
- Patterned card or paper (I used a piece from Stampin Up's 'You're a Peach' Designer paper)
- Circular die and cutting machine (If you don't have a cutting machine, use a glass as a template and cut it out with a craft knife)
- Greeting Stamp (I used Best Wishes from Petal Palette by Stampin Up)
- Dark green ink pad (I used Mossy meadow by Stampin Up)
- Stampin aid (I use the Stamparatus by Stamping up)
- Glue
- Cut a piece of patterned paper to 14 cm high by 9 . 5 cm wide - if you are using directional patterned paper, make sure you cut it the right way round
- Cut a circle out of the left hand edge of this patterned paper so part of the circle is off the paper as shown in the photo below
- Glue this patterned paper to the front of the base card
- Stamp your greeting using the green ink pad into the circular cut out section on your base card. Use peel off's if you would prefer. My stamp was one long stamp and I needed to stamp the words 'Best' and 'Wishes' separately. To do this line up the stamp onto your base card. Pull the plastic tab of your stamping aid over to pick up the stamp. Put washi tape over the part of the greeting you do not wish to stamp - in my case I had to cover 'Wishes'. Ink up the remaining greeting, pull off the washi tape and stamp onto the front of your card.
Line up first bit of your greeting stamp into circular space Cover part of stamp you do not wish to use with washi tape Ink the stamp and then remove the washi tape Stamp the first bit of your greeting onto your base card - Repeat step 4 but for the other part of your greeting. I use a piece of acetate to place over my card whilst lining up the stamp to ensure no ink left on the stamp marks my base card (Just be sure to remove the acetate before stamping)
Hey presto ! One super quick card. I needed my card to say good luck as she was starting a new job - so you can adapt this idea to show any greeting you choose - just change the size of the die if you have a bigger message.
