Make a card using circular nesting dies
I've decorated my card with a really cute gnome from my stash of stamps but todays blog is really to show you how simple it is to make the base card. You can then decorate it however you wish.
The base card is made with a few circle dies from a circular nesting die set. If you do not have the nesting dies, you could always print circles and use them as templates or see what circular items you have around the house that could also be used as templates. Draw around them on your card then cut them out with scissors.
You will need
- Circle nesting dies with diameters of 11 . 5 cm, 9 cm and 7 . 5 cm
- Patterned card (I used a leaf pattern print from 'Nature at Heart' scrapbook pad by Craft Creations)
- White and dark green card (you may choose different colours depending on how you intend to decorate the card)
- Colouring medium of your choice (I use promarker pens)
- Gnome stamp and die set (mine came from Amazon but you can use any stamp sets you already have)
- Greeting stamp (I used Happy Birthday from Beautiful Bouquet stamp set by Stampin Up)
- Black ink pad
- Die cutting machine
- Glue and double sided foam pads
- Using the circle dies, cut as following:
- 11 . 5 cm cut one out of patterned card
- 9 cm cut one out of dark green card
- 7 . 5 cm cut one out of white card
- Fold the largest circle in half - this creates your base card
- Glue the dark green circle ontop so half of it extends over the top of the base card as per the below photo:
- Glue the white card circle centrally over the dark green circle. This is your completed base card. You can now decorate it as you wish. You can keep all the images within the white circle or like me add an image or two to the patterned circle - like i've done with the smallest toadstool
- I stamped my gnome, toadstool and snail images using black ink on white card. Coloured them in, then die cut out and stuck to the base card using double sided foam pads. I stamped the greeting directly to the base card.
