Use your stamping aid to stamp a line of greetings
I use the Stamparatus stamping aid and it has a base that has a grid in it - this can be used to create an evenly spaced line of stamped greetings. If your stamping aid doesn't have a grid, put a sheet of lined paper down on the base plate first and use these lines.
I have used Happpiest Birthday as a greeting stamp, but you can use any greeting and any size greeting. You may be able to stamp more times or less depending on the height of your stamp.
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- A4 card - white, yellow, red, blue, purple and green
- Greeting stamp (I used Happiest Birthday from 'Cool Treats' stamp set by Stampin Up)
- Yellow, red, blue, purple and green ink pads (I used ones from Stampin Up - crushed curry, rose red, island indigo, perfect plum and mossy meadow)
- Scalloped edge die (I used Stitched Scalloped Border die by Lawn Fawn)
- Stamping aid (I used Stamparatus)
- Guillotine
- Double sided tape or glue
- Line your greeting stamp up on your stamping aid in the bottom left hand corner so that it fits between some lines on the grid. You can see my stamp lines up in between the 3 lowest lines and the line above the top of the stamp is the 14cm line. Pick the stamp up with the plastic tab. (If your greeting stamp is smaller then just make a note of the line at the top of your stamp, ie 15cm or 16 cm)
- Put a piece of white card into the stamping aid so it lines up against the 14cm line and buts up against the right edge of the stamping aid base. (If your stamp is smaller then line it up against the line you made a note of in step 1)
- Ink the stamp with the yellow ink pad and stamp onto the white card. Clean the stamp but do not take it off your stamping aid
- Move your piece of white card up 3 lines (because my stamp is 3 lines tall) to 11 cm, ensuring it buts up against the right hand side of the stamping aid again (If your stamp is smaller then move your card up by 1 or 2 cm depending on how tall your stamp is)
- Ink the stamp with the red ink pad and stamp onto the white card. Clean your stamp again but do not remove it from the stamping aid
- Move your card again another 3 cm up (or the height of your stamp if smaller), ink the stamp with the blue ink pad and stamp onto your card. Clean the stamp again
- Move your card up another 3 cm (or the height of your stamp if smaller), ink the stamp with the purple ink pad and stamp onto your white card. Clean the stamp
- Move your card up a further 3cm (or the height of your stamp if smaller)and ink the stamp with the green ink pad. Stamp onto your white card. If your stamp is smaller than mine, keep moving your card up the height of your stamp and ink and stamp the greeting again until your stamped white card reaches just short of 15 cm in height
- Trim the white card to 15 cm in height. Trim close to the left hand edge of your stamped greetings and then use a scalloped border die to cut down the right hand side close to the edge of your greeting stamps, so it looks like the photo below. (If you do not have a border die, you can just use your guillotine to cut a straight line. You could then use a corner punch to round the right hand edges if you have one)
- Cut the following from coloured card:
- Yellow - 15 cm by 8 cm
- Red - 15 cm by 8 . 7 cm
- Blue - 15 cm by 9 . 4 cm
- Purple - 15 cm by 10 . 1 cm
- Use the same scalloped border die to cut down the right hand side (15 cm length) of each of the pieces of card with the scalloped die as close to the edge as possible
- Cut the green card down to 15 cm by 21 . 6 cm and fold it in half to make a base card of 15 cm high by 10 . 8 cm wide
- Use the scalloped border die to cut the right edge of the green base card through both layers
- Stick the purple, then the blue, then the red and finally the yellow to the green base card lining up the left hand edges. Then stick the stamped white piece on the top, again lining it up with the left hand edge
