Make a tag shaped card for any occaision using my template
I really like shaped cards, so this week I've made a really simple tag shaped card.
I've made a birthday card and I have used Stampin Up's Party Pandas stamp set but as tags are a universal shape it could easily be converted to a Christmas card, Graduation card or wedding card. I may also make a couple of them into Thank you cards and attach them via the ribbon to the gift.
I've made a template that you can download and print onto plain paper. You can then use the template again and again. The link to this is under the 'You will need' section below.
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- Tag template - click here to download
- Patterned card (I used a spotty piece from 'Victorian Roses' 12x12 design pad by Craft Sensations)
- Party Pandas stamp set by Stampin Up
- Greeting stamp (I used 'Happiest Birthday' from 'Cool Treats' stamp set by Stampin Up)
- Black and blue ink pads (my black ink pad came from the Range and I used Island indigo by Stampin Up)
- White A4 card
- Piece of blue ribbon
- 3 small blue gems
- Paintbrush (or colouring medium of your choice)
- Scissors
- Small hole punch
- Double sided foam pads
- Print out the tag template. (See above 'You will need' section for download link)
- Use the template to cut out a piece of patterned card - only cut round the outside - do not cut down the dotted line(this is the fold line) and do not cut out the holes yet. (It needs to be fairly thick card as this will be the base card)
- Fold the patterned card in half - this is your base card
- Use the hole punch to cut through both layers at once where the small circles are marked on the template
- Stamp the panda holding a balloon onto white card using the black ink pad
- Colour in his balloon. I used a paintbrush and wiped it on the blue ink pad to pick up the blue ink and coloured with that. (I stamp the greeting using this ink pad later so they will match). You can use water or baby wipes to remove the colour from the paintbrush once you have finished painting
- Using a pair of scissors, cut the panda and his balloon out leaving a small white outline all around. This helps ensure the string of the balloon stays in-tact
- Lay the panda onto the base card on the left hand side so you can see where you can stamp your greeting on the right hand side. Ink with the blue ink pad and stamp the greeting onto your base card.
- Stick the panda to the base card using double sided foam pads
- Attach a piece of blue ribbon to the front of the card through the hole in the top
- Attach 3 small blue gems to the lower right hand side of the card
