Use Stampin Up's Tidings and Trimmings stamp and die set to make this cut out star card
This die set from Stampin Up, has two large star dies, one just an outline and the other a filigree style star. I used the outline star die to cut a window in the card and then hung a gold filigree style star within the window. The star then floats and spins catching the light.
The star is the centre attraction for this card so I felt the rest of the card just needed a little extra decoration of a greeting and a few little stars which all come in the stamp set that goes with the die set. If you have gold embossing powder or gold glitter you could use these to make the little stars and maybe the greeting, sparkle even more.
If you have nesting bell shape dies or even stocking dies, you could make a similar card using them instead of the star.
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- Tidings and Trimmings stamp and die sets by Stampin Up
- Double sided gold card
- C5 white card base
- Gold thread (You can use white if you don't have any gold)
- Yellow ink pad (I've used crushed curry by Stampin Up)
- Die cutting machine
- Small piece of tape
- Use the largest star outline die from the die set to cut a star out of the front of your base card.
- Using the yellow ink pad, stamp 'May your days be merry & bright' greeting below the star cut out in your base card. Then use the same ink pad to stamp 5 small stars around the large cut out star and one just below the greeting.
- Cut the filigree style star out of double sided gold card
- Cut a small amount of gold thread. Fold the thread in half which creates a loop. Thread the loop through a hole in one of the points of the star. Thread the tails of the gold thread through the loop and pull tight.
- Turn your card over so you are now looking at the back. Place the gold star centrally within the cut out star and using a little piece of tape, fix the gold thread at the top of the cut out star. Cut any thread away that hangs over the top of the card
