Create a birthday card or new home card with cute owls hiding in a tree
This weeks card can be made into a birthday, romantic or moving house card quite easily by just changing the greeting.
I've used an owl stamp but you could use any kind of bird stamp to be peering out of the hole in the tree. You could add more or less birds, just adjust the size of the circle die cut out to accommodate your birds
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- A4 Brown card (I used a sheet of light brown card from Vintage Dreams scrapbooking pad by Craft Sensations)
- A4 white card
- Small amount of green card
- Wood grained patterned card (I used a sheet from Wood Textures Design Series Paper by Stampin Up)
- Circle die about 5 cm in diameter
- Owl stamps (I used Special Delivery by Lawn Fawn)
- Black Ink pad
- Colouring medium of your choice (I used promarker pens)
- Greeting stamp (I used Happy Birthday from Sweet Ice Cream stamp set by Stampin Up)
- Craft string
- Leaf die
- Glue, double sided tape and double sided foam pads
- Guillotine with cutting and scoring blades
- Die Cutting machine
- Cut a piece of white card to 15 cm in height by 21 cm in length. Fold in half to create your base card
- Cover the card front in plain brown card
- Cut a sheet of woodgrain card to 15 cm high by 10 . 5 cm wide ensuring the grain runs top to bottom (rather than left to right)
- Use the circle die to cut a circle in the woodgrain card about half way up and towards the right edge
- Stamp two owls using the black ink pad onto white card. Colour them in and cut out
- Glue the owls to the base card so they will be in the right place to peek out of the hole when the woodgrain card is layered ontop
- Stamp the greeting on the lower part of the woodgrain card using black ink. I also stamped some small sentiments from the Special Delivery Stamp set by Lawn Fawn, faintly onto the top of the woodgrain card so it looks like they've been scratched into the bark
- Cut two lengths of string and stick them using double sided tape to the back of the woodgrain card at the top on the left hand side. Cross the string over down the front of the card then stick them to the back of the card at the bottom. (I used some spare card to cover the double sided tape - it helps to hold the string in place)
Two ends of string attached to back of wood grained card

this helps hold the string in placeCross the string on the front of the card
then attach ends to back of card - Use double sided foam pads to attach the woodgrain card ontop of the base card
- Die cut two leaves from green card and glue them to the base card near the string
That is your finished card
