Use Stampin Up's Dear Doily die set to create this pretty but simple greeting card
I picked out one of my stamp and die sets at random this week and challenged myself to make a card with it. I picked out the 'Dear Doily' set by Stampin Up. I had a vision in my head of how I wanted the card to go but I just couldn't get the doilies to look right! Sometimes it's just best to walk away and come back with a fresh head another day. This is what I did and came up with this card:
It's quite a simple card but you can change the colours so easily and the greeting too so this could be a greeting card for almost any occaision.
If you don't have this specific die, you can use any doilies from your craft stash or cut circles out instead.

You will need
- White square 5" base card
- 3 shades of peach card (or whatever colour you are wishing to do)
- Dear Doily die set by Stampin Up
- Happy Brthday greeting stamp
- Dark peach ink pad (I used Potters Clay by Memento)
- Guillotine and scissors
- Glue and double sided foam pads
- Using the medium sized doily die from the die set, cut 3 doilies from each of the shades of peach card - you should have 9 doilies in total
- Glue them onto the base card - start with the one in the centre then two either side spaced evenly and so they almost touch the edges. Then do the top row and bottom row so they match the row in the middle but almost touching the top and bottom of the card as per the below photo:
- Cut a retcangle from dark peach card measuring 4 cm by 13 cm and a rectangle from light peach card measuring 3 cm by 12 cm. Trim a triangle out of the right short end of both pieces to make a banner
- Using the dark peach ink pad, stamp the Happy Birthday greeting onto the light peach banner
- Glue the light peach banner ontop of the dark peach banner so their left edges are aligned
- Use double sided foam pads to attach the greeting banner to the card
