Enjoy Today

Use Stampin Up's Waterfront stamp set to create this really pretty greeting card

This is a fab stamp set as it requires just inks, no colouring in, and it produces a lovely watercolour feel to the image.
Waterfront Stamp by Stampin up is used to create this scenic card

Each of the objects, ie mountain, land and water are their own stamp so you can make up various landscape designs, just by changing their position and colour. My card is a beach style card with little beach huts but you could just as easily use it to create a forest scene.

I've used a greeting from another stamp set as I wanted a simple greeting. However there are some nice ones that come with the waterfront stamp set and you may just have to change the placing of the greeting banner depending on the size of the greeting chosen

Follow the below link to find out how the card was made

You will need
  • Light and dark blue card
  • White card
  • 5" square base card
  • Ink pads - dark blue, beige, green, red, yellow and light blue (I used island indigo, crumb cake, mossy meadow, cherry cobler and so saffron by Stampin up and pale aqua by versacraft)
  • Waterfront stamp set by Stampin Up
  • Versamark ink pad
  • White embossing powder
  • Heat gun
  • 'Enjoy Today' greeting from the Good Morning Magnolia set by Stampin Up
  • Guillotine
  • Glue and double sided foam pads
  • Stampin aid (I use Stamparatus by Stampin Up
  • Scissors

  1. Cut a piece of light blue card to 5" square and using the dotty stamp from the Waterfront stamp set, stamp dots all over the card using the dark blue ink pad.
Stamp dots using dark blue ink onto the light blue card
Put a piece of scrap paper behind your square so you can stamp off the edge of the square

  2. Glue the dotty light blue card to the front of the base card
Glue the dotty background paper to the base card

  3. Cut a piece of white card to 3 . 5 " square. Place it in your stampin aid to help placing of the scene stamps. Use the beige ink pad and stamp a mountain range slightly above central. Then using the yellow ink pad stamp the beach just below it. It doesn't matter if there is a gap or the colours overlap - it really wont be noticed
On white card stamp a mountain using beige ink and sand using yellow ink pad

  4. Using the green ink pad, stamp some trees on the left side of the mountain
Stamp trees to left of mountain using green ink pad

  5. Stamp the sun in the top right using the yellow ink pad
Stamp a sun using yellow ink pad

  6. Stamp the large piece of water using the light blue ink pad and then stamp a smaller piece of water over it using the darker blue ink pad
    Stamp two shades of water

  7. Cut a piece of dark blue card to 4" square

  8. Glue the landscape scene centrally onto the dark blue card, then mount this onto the base card
Mount scene onto square of dark blue card

  9. Stamp 3 beach huts onto a spare piece of white card to create a red, blue and green beach hut. Cut them out with a slight white border using scissors
Stamp 3 huts onto white card - one blue, one red and one green

Cut out beach huts with scissors leaving a white border around them

  10. Attach the 3 beach huts to the right side of the sand using double sided foam pads

  11. Cut a piece of dark blue card to 7 . 5 cm in length by 2 cm in height (If you are using a different greeting stamp to me, adjust the size of the banner cut to allow enough space for your geeting). Trim a triangle out of the right short edge. Stamp 'Enjoy Today' greeting onto the strip using the versamark ink pad and cover with embossing powder. Knock off the excess and then heat with a heatgun until the powder melts.

  12. Glue the greeting strip to your card so the left edge lines up with the left edge of the base card and it is towards the lower part of the scene image
