Toot your own horn

 

Use Lawn Fawns Critter Concert Stamp and die set to make this 'Cause you're awsome' card



I thought this card would make a great well done on your exam's card, but could be for so many other occaisions where someone has done something brilliant or just to tell them they are awesome.

Rather than place the layers directy ontop of each other, I have offset them at an angle.  This adds a different look to your card and if you are someone who struggles to get the layers squarly positioned - just go for the purposely jaunty look :)

You will need
  • 5" square white base card
  • Blue card
  • Patterned blue card
  • White card
  • Critter Concert stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn
  • Black, blue and Versarmark ink pads
  • White embossing powder
  • Heat Gun
  • Rounding corner punch
  • Colouring medium of your choice (I used Promarker pens - sandstone,blush and buttercup)
  • 6 small clear gems and 3 small blue gems
  • Glue and double sided foam pads

  1. Stamp the little bear playing the horn onto white card with black ink. Colour him in and die cut out

  2. Cut two rectangles from blue card, one measuring 10 cm by 9 cm and the other measuring 8 . 5 cm by 7 . 5 cm

  3. Cut a rectangle from Blue patterned card measuring 9 cm by 8 cm

  4. Use the rounding corner punch to round all corners of the rectangles
    Cut 3 retangles, 2 from plain blue card and one patterned

  5. Using blue ink, stamp 'go ahead, toot your own horn!' to the top left of the base card and '('Cause you're awesome)' bottom right hand side of your base card

  6. Glue the larger blue rectangle just below the top wording on the base card

  7. Glue the patterned blue card on an angle ontop of the blue rectangle

  8. Using the versamark ink pad, stamp lots of musical notes over the smallest blue rectangle. Cover with embossing powder and knock off the excess. Heat with the heatgun until the powder melts

  9. Glue this blue rectangle over the patterned blue card on the base card just above the lower wording
    Stick smallest blue rectangle onto base card


  10. Use double sided foam pads to attach the bear to the base card on the bottom right hand side of the smaller blue rectangle
    Using double sided foam pads, add bear playing horn to base card


  11. Glue the small gems to the larger blue and patterned rectangles as per the below photo
