Make this fishy birthday card using my free templates
I do find it hard to make mens birthday cards - I don't seem to be able to find the right images. Therefore I have made my own template for this card which can be made for someone who keeps fish, likes fish or maybe a fisherman.
I've used my computer and printer to print templates and the greeting but if you have a stamp or die you can use them instead.
Obviously your fish could be any colour but I rather liked the orange colours.
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- 5x7 inch white base card
- White printer paper
- 3 different patterned papers in orange tones
- Blue bubble or dotty paper
- 9 blue gems
- Glue and double sided foam pads
- Rounded corner punch
- Fish template (you can get the template here)
- Print the first page of the fish template onto white copier paper
- Print the second page onto the front of one sheet of your patterned orange papers
- Cut out the fish templates by cutting a rough rectangle around them - do not cut them out around the black line just yet
- Glue two of the fish rectangles onto the back of two of your orange patterned papers (ensure your patterned paper is facing the right direction before sticking the template on the back - ie if you want stripes going horizontally or vertically). Cut these out.
- Glue the third fish rectangle to the back of your printed patterend paper (see step 2). I held it up against a window, so you can see the words through the paper - line up the fish template so the words are central within the fish body.
- Cut this fish out too
- Cut out little mouths from each of the fish shapes (make sure your fishes are facing the correct way when cutting out the mouths - 2 will face left and the one with the greeting on will face right)
- Cut the blue bubble or spotty paper to 16 . 5 cm by 11 . 5 cm. Use the rounding corner punch to round all of the corners before sticking to the front of the base card
- Use double sided foam pads to stick your fishes to the front of the card
- Glue 3 blue gems coming out of the mouths of each of the fish
