Ice Cream Birthday

Use Stampin Up's Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and matching punch to make this cool birthday card

The weather here is still hot so ice creams seemed an ideal image to put on a birthday card that I need to make for next week.
Make a summery ice cream card using Stampin Up's Sweet Ice Crema stamp and punch set

The card has a small cut away part from the right hand edge which gives that card a little bit of character.  The Happy Birthday greeting is actually on the inside back of the card.

You may not have the stamp set, punch or paper that I use but that's ok, just use the card as a guide and use what ever ice cream, lolly or cupcake punch and stamp sets to make a similar card.  I give some further guidance of others ways to create this card in the instructions below.

Follow the below link to find out how the card was made

You will need
  • White card
  • Stampin Up's Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and matching ice cream punch
  • Stampin Up's Ice Cream Corner designer paper
  • Stampin Up's Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles
  • Red ink pad
  • Guillotine with cutting and scoring blades
  • Glue

  1. Cut a rectangle from a piece of white card measuring 21 cm wide by 14 . 75 cm high. Score in half to make your base card

  2. Cut 4 cm off the front right edge of your base card
Create base card then cut a 4 cm strip from right hand front edge

  3. Cut a piece of patterned paper to 14 cm high by 5 . 5 cm wide and glue centrally to the front flap of your base card
Glue patterned card to the left hand flap

  4. Cut a piece of white card measuring 13 cm high by 4 . 5 cm wide and glue centrally onto the front flap of your base card
Glue a strip of white card ontop

  5. Cut another piece of patterned paper (use the same as in step 3) to 14 cm by 5 . 5 cm wide and glue to the inside of the card but so it is near the right hand edge and can be seen when the flap is closed (as per the below photo)
Glue patterned card to the right hand edge of the inside of card

  6. Cut a piece of white card to 13 cm high by 3 cm wide

  7. Using red ink, stamp 'Happy Birthday' to the centre of the piece of white card
Stamp Happy Birthday greeting to another strip of white card

  8. Glue this happy birthday piece of white card to the patterned paper in step 5 but make sure it is towards the right hand edge
Glue Happy Birthday greeting strip to the inside right edge of card

When the front flap is shut you can see the greeting

  9. Using another piece of corresponding patterned paper and your ice cream builder punch, cut out 3 ice cream tops (if you don't have this punch, you could use a circle punch or a cupcake top punch or die).  If you are using a punch, then use it upside down so you can see where you are cutting out the shape onto the patterned paper.
Select some more patterned corresponding paper

Use the Ice Cream Builder punch to cut out 3 ice cream tops

  10. Cut a cone out of brown patterned paper using the ice cream builder punch (if you don't have the punch, just cut a triangle of brown paper)
Use the Ice Cream Builder punch to cut out a cone from brown paper

  11. Glue the cone to the lefthand white strip of card on the base card and glue the 3 ice cream tops ontop
Glue ice cream components just cut out to the white strip of card on left hand side of base card

  12. Glue some sprinkles to the top of the ice cream and around the Happy Birthday greeting (any gems or small punched pieces of card can be used if you do not have the sprinkles)
Glue some sprinkles to the top of the ice cream and around the Happy Birthday Greeting

It creates a lovely summery card.
