Use Crafters Companion 'Spring Blooms' die set to make the base for this spooky card
I bought the 'Spring Blooms' die set by Crafters companion at a local craft fair recently, knowing that it could have several uses. So, this week I wanted to show you that a spring die could be used to make an autumn card.
This die set has several bits to it, but the two main die pieces make a circle for the centre of a base card. But instead of using the flowery part of the die piece, I just used the stringy part twice to create a circle. I thought it worked well for a Halloween card as to me it looks slightly spooky as it is irregular cut outs.
I used a small Cuttlebug Halloween die that I have had for years to cut the little characters on my card. You can use any stamp, die or punches to make your Halloween characters to decorate the card.
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- Black, grey, white and orange card
- Spring Blooms die set by crafters companion
- Halloween characters (any punch, stamp or die set)
- Grey thread
- Glue and double sided foam pads
- Guillotine with cutting and scoring blades
- Die cutting machine
- Cut a piece of black card to 10 inches by 5 inches and fold in half to create a square card base
- Cut a piece of grey card to 12 cm square
- Take half of the circular die and lay to the right of centre of your grey square and run through your die cutting machine
- Flip your piece of card over and line up the half circular die to the right of centre again and run through your die cutting machine
- Glue the grey square to the black base card
- Die cut, punch or stamp your Halloween characters
- Glue or use double sided foam pads to attach the Halloween characters to the base card. I used a piece of string to attach the spider to the top of the circle on the base card
So there is your Halloween card made using a spring blooms die
