Use Lawn Fawns Butterfly Kisses Flip-Flop stamp and die set to create this really cute card that will make the recipient smile!
The characters in Lawn Fawns stamp sets are so cute and always bring a smile to my face. They are easy to use, colour in and often come with matching dies to cut them out - what is there not to love about them? So this weeks card, I have used Lawn Fawn's Shadow Box die and matching Park add-on set to make the scenery for the little fox to chase the butterflies. The butterflies are stuck onto a bit of acetate so they look like they are really flying about :)
The shadow box die creates a 3d card that folds flat for posting. Once you've created the card and added background images, you can then add whichever little characters you like to your scene - for example your recipient might prefer birds, so stamp and add birds to the scene - some of them could even fly using a little bit of acetate just like the butterflies in my card.
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- Butterfly Kisses Flip-Flop stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn
- Shadow Box Card die set by Lawn Fawn
- Shadow Box Card Park Add-on die set by Lawn Fawn
- Forest Backdrop die set by Lawn Fawn (I used this one for the mushrooms but you could use flowers instead)
- White, light green, dark green, beige, blue and red card
- Black ink pad
- Colouring medium of your choice (I used Promarker pens - cool grey 1, cool grey 4, lavender, amethyst, wheat, pale pink and spice)
- Acetate (Only need a small amount or could use a laminated, laminating sheet)
- Die cutting machine
- Glue and double sided tape
- Cut two shadow box pieces from white card
- Use the dome die from the 'park set add on' to cut a window out of one of the shadow box pieces
- Put double sided tape on the tab of this piece
- Stick the two shadow box pieces together to make one long piece
- Cut a piece of blue card to 8 . 2 cm by 7 cm and glue it to the inside back of the shadow box as per the below picture
- Using the tree top die from the park add on, cut two from green card
- Glue the green tree tops to the top of the blue rectangle. They will overlap a little.
- Cut the tree stems from brown card and glue to either side of the blue rectangle
- Stamp, colour and die cut two butterflies from the Butterfly Kisses flip flop stamp set. Cut a piece of acetate to 1 cm by 6 cm. Glue the butterflies to the top of the accetate strip
- Cut out 2 lots of grassy hills from the park add on die set from green card. Trim about half a centimeter from the bottom of one of the grassy hills so it ends up 0 . 5 cm shorter than the other
- Put a piece of double sided tape to the back of the taller piece of grass as per the below photo
- Stick the acetate with butterflies to this double sided tape strip - ensuring the butterflies are facing to the front of the grassy hill
- Put some double sided tape on the tab sections of both of the grassy hills
- Fold the left tab of the taller grassy hill underneath and with the bottom edge aligning the bottom edge of the shadow box, stick it down so that the left egde is about 1/3rd of the way along the side panel as shown in the below photo
- Do the same with the shorter grassy hill but this time stick it about 2/3rds of the way along the side panel
- Pull the tape liner off the tabs on the right hand edge of the grassy hills. Fold the right hand edge of the shadow box over so it covers the other ends of the grassy hills and hence sticking them do the other side
- Put some double sided tape down the tab as shown by the red tape liner in the above photo
- Fold the left hand edge over so it sticks on this double sided tape and hence forms the box
- Stamp the fox and net from the Butterflies kisses flip flop stamp set. Colour it in and die cut it out. Glue the net to the fox's hand
- Glue the fox to the front grass on the right hand side
- Stamp 'sending smiles' to the top left hand corner of the shadow box
- Using the mushroom die from the Forest Backdrop die set, cut two and glue to the front and front grass section of the shadow box. (If you do not have a mushroom die, you could stamp and cut flowers instead)
This is your finished card. It folds flat so can be posted in a normal envelope and your greeting can be written on the back.
