Make a birthday card using a bought topper
My friend gave me a bag lot of toppers and pre printed papers that she could no longer use. So I decided this weeks card would be made using one of these toppers. I don't know if you can get this particular topper any more, but I hope you can get inspiration from how this card has been made to make a card yourself using a topper from your own craft stash.
Toppers are not very expensive and I have seen them for sale at local craft fairs and a local shop called The Range. There are often 6 or more toppers on one sheet of A4 card and can be the same image or a sheet of different images. This is what makes them perfect for crafters and as the images are normally coloured - so no panicking about having to colour in a stamped image.
This card shows how you can use a stamp to create a background which allows a rather plain background to become patterned and to match the other features of your card. In my example, I remembered having a lavender stamp in my stash so used this to match the image in the topper.
My mum made a card at the same time with the same topper - you can see her card at the bottom of this post. You will see how different the cards are and therefore how versatile toppers can be.
