Birthday Circles

Use nested circle dies to create this greeting card from coloured paper or card

I recently got a set of nested circle dies and had an idea of putting random circles onto a greeting card. It didn't quite turn out how I imagined but I am pleased with the result. It's really quite a chirpy card.

It's such a generic style card so could be used as a greeting for anyone. Also if you have square, rectangle or star shaped dies, you can use them to create a similar card.

Follow the below link to find out how the card was made

You will need
  • A6 white base card
  • Coloured card or paper (I used sheets from Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper pack by Lawn Fawn)
  • Dotty patterned paper (mine came from the Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper pack by Lawn Fawn)
  • 3 circle dies of graduating sizes (I used a 2 cm, 3 . 5 cm and a 5 cm circle die)
  • Happy Birthday white peel off
  • Small white birthday peel off images (mine were on the peel off sheet with the greeting)
  • Glue
  • Die cutting machine
  • Guillotine

  1. Cover the front of the white base card with dotty paper

  2. Die cut 3 different sized circles from various colours of paper or card. I cut some from yellow, pink, orange, blue and green.

  3. Put the greeting onto one of the largest circles

  4. Lay the circles onto the base card until you are happy with the layout. They can overlap each other but just make sure the greeting can be fully seen. I put my greeting circle in the bottom right of the card

  5. Carefully glue the circles into place

  6. Stick a few birthday peel-off images to some of the circles
