Use Creative Expressions Doodle Rose Wreath die as a focal point for this pretty birthday card
This card shows how to use different parts of a die set to create the focal points of a card - the rest of the card is fairly plain but your eye is drawn by the white outlined wreath in the centre of the diamond.
Just be careful when colouring your green leaves that you do not colour too much into the wreath or your roses may also be green ! I didn't try it - but maybe glue the white outline to the pink wreath, then colour in your leaves.
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- White 5" square base card
- White, Light and dark pink card
- Frames and tags Doodle Rose Wreath die set by Creative Expressions
- 8 pink gems
- Happy Birthday peel off
- Green pen (I used promarker pen - pear green, but a thinner tipped pen would be better)
- Glue
- Guillotine
- Die cutting machine
- Use the rose wreath die with the inner and outer dies to cut out an outline in white card
- Line the same dies up again on light pink card but this time remove the middle rose part of the die and run through the die cutting machine
- Use a green pen to colour in the leaves on the pink wreath cut out in step 2. (Lay the white outline cut out in step 1 over the pink wreath to see where you need to colour)
- Glue the white outline to the pink wreath
- Cut a piece of dark pink card to 8 . 8 cm square and glue the wreath centrally to it
- Put a Happy Birthday peel off in the centre of the wreath
- Glue a rectangle measuring 10 cm by 12 . 5 cm of light pink card to the lefthand side of the base card
- Glue the square cut out in step 5 centrally to the base card but in a diamond formation
- Use the smaller dies in the die set to cut 4 pink flowers and 4 green leaves and glue them to the right hand side of the card as shown in the below photo:
- Glue 4 small pink gems to the 4 points of the diamond and 4 more gems to the centre of the roses just added in step 9
