Doggie Dreams of Christmas

Lawn Fawn's Christmas Dreams stamp and die set have been used to make this greeting card

Lawn Fawn's stamp and die sets are really cool as they are usually made up of lots of little stamps that can be put together to make a picture for your card. This means you can pick and choose which pieces to use. For example the Christmas Dreams stamp set comes with both cat and dog but as we have a dog, I have chosen to use that stamp to personalise my card.

Last year I made a tag using the same stamp set - if you missed it, click here to see what I did.

Follow the below link to find out how the card was made

You will need
  • Red and white card
  • Christmas Dreams stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn
  • Black ink pad
  • Versamark ink pad
  • Colouring medium of your choice (I used Promarker pens - lush green, pine, chestnut, berry red, cinnamon, buttercup, mustard, ginger, firebrick, walnut, saddle brown, terracotta, warm grey1, ivory and tea green)
  • Fine white embossing powder
  • Heatgun
  • Die cutting machine
  • Guillotine with cutting and scoring blades
  • Corner rounding punch
  • Glue and double sided foam pads

  1. Cut a piece of red card to 21 cm by 10 . 5 cm. Score at 10 . 5 cm along the long side and fold in half to create base card. Use the rounded corner punch on all corners.
Make a red 10.5cm square base card

  2. Stamp 'Merry Christmas' using the versamark ink pad onto the top of the red base card. Cover the ink with embossing powder, knock off the excess and then use the heatgun to melt the powder to make the letters go shiny
Use versamark ink pad and embossing powder to add the greeting to base card

  3. Stamp the tree, fireplace, presents, candle, dog, dear santa cookies, mat, two stockings and a bow onto white card using black ink pad. Colour in the images and then die cut them out. (To make the fireplace look a little more realistic and an 'older' style, I coloured the bricks in different colours - I used all these colours just for the fireplace - buttercup, mustard, ginger, firebrick, walnut, saddle brown, terracotta and ginger)
Stamp, colour and die cut the images

  4. Glue the fireplace, mat, candle and dear santa cookies to the base card as per the below photo:

  5. Use double sided foam pads to add the other stamped elements - tree, presents, dog, two stockings and ribbon
