Layer up small images into a greeting card to give them presence
Sometimes you have small images that would look lost on a card. This card shows you how just layering them up with several layers of patterned papers really makes them stand out and they no longer look lost on the card. Also using a zigzag card base breaks down a larger card into 3 smaller sections.
I've used an old rubber stamp that I found when sorting out my craft desk, but this card would work with any small round image. If the images you have are square, then just replace the circle dies with square ones.
Follow the below link to find out how the card was made
You will need
- White, beige and pink card
- Beige patterned print card (I used a paw print pattern but it can be any design)
- Present Trio rubber stamp from Lili of the Valley
- Black ink pad
- Colouring medium of your choice (I use Promarker pens - pebble blue, tea green, dusky rose, soft peach and caramel)
- 3 inch circle die
- Decorative edge circle dies - one about 2 1/4 inch and the second one about 2 inch
- Happy Birthday peel off
- Guillotine with cutting and scoring blades
- Die cutting machine
- Glue and scissors
- Stamp the 3 bear images onto white card using the black ink pad
- Colour in the images and then cut them out using scissors
- Cut a piece of white card to 9 inch by 4 inch and score at 4 inch and 8 inch. Cut a 4 inch square from white card.
- Glue the 4 inch square of white card to the small tab on the end of the white rectangle. This creates the zigzag base card
- Cut three x 3 3/4 inch squares out of pink card. Glue them centrally onto each section of the zigzag base card
- Cut three x 3 . 5 inch squares out of the beige patterned card and glue centrally ontop of the pink squares
- Using the 3 inch circle die, cut 3 from beige card. Glue them centrally ontop of the beige patterned squares
- Using the 2 1/4 inch decorative edge circle die, cut 3 from pink card. Glue them centrally ontop of the beige circles
- Using the 2 inch decorative edge circle die, cut 3 from white card. Glue them centrally ontop of the pink circles
- Glue the 3 bear images cut out in step 2 centrally ontop of the white circles
- Put the Happy Birthday peel off onto pink card and cut it out to form a greeting strip. (Mine was about 2 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch). Glue this strip below the circle on the middle section of the greeting card
